Forest Service Proposes "New" Management for an Oregon Herd that Copycats BLM Mismanagement

The U.S. Forest Service (USFS) is proposing a new management plan for wild horses living in the Murderer's Creek area in eastern Oregon. Unbelievably, despite the Bureau of Land Management's long-standing failure in managing wild horses, USFS is now planning to copy BLM's mismanagement practices.

USFS is proposing to create a plan that --

  • only allows for a dangerously small population forcing horses to inbreed.

  • uses a fertility control that destroys the natural hormones necessary for "wild" behaviors, skews the natural sex ratio to create massive social chaos, and increases stallion aggression as they fight for a small number of females.
