McCullough Peaks Herd Bait Trapping Begins

The colorful McCullough Peaks horses are a favorite attraction for many wild horse and burro enthusiasts.

Bait trapping is set to begin for the McCullough Peaks Herd on or about Nov. 27. Efforts were made to delay removals before what is predicted to be a heavy winter. Weather impacts on the herd could decrease numbers naturally, and weakening the herd through removals ahead of winter could prove disastrous.
