Tell Your Senator to End Horse Slaughter Now!
Have you heard the story of the Dry Creek Quartet?
In March of 2014, the BLM removed several bands of horses from a zeroed-out HMA in Wyoming. They dropped them at auction, and they were purchased cheap and hauled off to slaughter in Canada.
TCF was alerted to this cruelty and our founder, Ginger Kathrens, attempted to buy all 37 horses in order to save them from a horrific end. But the feedlot wouldn't let her.
Ginger was devastated. Then, a miracle...
TCF learned that 4 tiny foals belonging to those slaughter-bound families had been saved from death. A kind soul at the Wyoming livestock auction had refused to allow them to be crowded onto the truck.
She knew they would open the doors on the other side and those foals would be dead.
Our team hurried into action and we were able to save these 4 babies, whom we named the Dry Creek Quartet, after the Dry Creek Herd Area where they were born.
Friends, this is the face of the horrific horse slaughter industry. And we can stop it NOW.
Senator Bob Menendez of New Jersey has introduced amendment 2296 to the Senate infrastructure bill that would ban the transport of equines for slaughter.
The Senate votes at NOON TOMORROW.
This is the BEST chance we have to end this brutal practice right now.
