MARCH CALL TO ACTION: WILD HORSES NEED OUR VOICES!
March 4 - 8, 2024
Call the White House every day this week!
Calls are accepted Tuesday - Friday • 11am - 3pm EST
Ask to leave a message for Joe Biden and then call back and ask to leave a message for Kamala Harris:
Comments: 202-456-1111 • Switchboard: 202-456-1414
2. Then visit: www.whitehouse.gov/contact/
Send 3 messages: one for Biden, one for Harris, and one for help with a federal agency.
Repeat the message from your call.
3. You may also send a letter or postcard; have kids write a letter (See about getting their class or school on board!):
The White House • 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, N.W. • Washington, DC 20500
Make the calls and send a message via the website every day this week: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Get letters in the mail. We have to flood them with thousands of messages.
Tips/ Talking Points to include:
• Be polite with your calls and messages. Speak from your heart. Your message should be 2 minutes or less so prepare it ahead of time.
• Let them know how outraged you are at the overall management of our wild horses and burros and that you need help from the White House. Let them know that as a tax-paying citizen, you are angry that your tax dollars are funding such a broken and cruel program for our wild horses and burros.
• Talk about Kat Billou dying while in a Bureau of Land Management holding pen, and how 3 young horses ages 5-6 months were taken from their mothers while still nursing.
• Let them know the Bureau of Land Management is failing at running the Wild Horse & Burro Program and as an American citizen (or international fan of wild horses), you are incredibly disappointed that our government isn't protecting wild horses, who are a federally protected species
• Do NOT mention or talk about horse slaughter; that is a different legislative issue and we don't want to talk about roundups and slaughter in the same calls. Focus on roundups — especially the McCullough Peaks wild horses (currently being rounded up).
Individually, we may be just one person, but together we can make a difference! Please don't sit this one out. We ALL need to join together to be heard.
