Saluting Our Veterans: Honoring Their Service and Sacrifice

This Veteran's Day, we honor not only the brave men and women who have served but also the loyal equine veterans who stood alongside and carried them in both wartime and peace. Through their trust in their human partners, these horses, burros and mules displayed unwavering courage, strength, and loyalty, embodying the spirit of service and sacrifice.

It is in the spirit of their bravery and faith that The Cloud Foundation continues to fight so passionately for the freedom of America’s wild horses and burros -- and we will never give up.

To ALL our veterans two-legged and four - we give THANKS for your ~

Horses were much more important in war than most people give them credit for. Pictured are the Civil War horses of “Stonewall'“ Jackson (“Little Sorrel”), General Philip Sheridan (“Rienzi”/later renamed, "Winchester”), Ulysses S Grant (“Cincinnati”), and Robert E Lee (“Traveler”).
