Rep. Grijalva (AZ) Questions Zinke Over Unethical Sale Policy
Rep. Raul Grijalva, a ranking member of the House Committee on Natural Resources, took U.S. Secretary of the Interior Ryan Zinke to task over the Bureau of Land Management's recent policy change.
The BLM now allows buyers to purchase 24 horses at a time with no questions asked. The previous policy only permitted a buyer to purchase four wild horses or burros in a six-month period. The policy was implemented in 2013 after it was discovered that a Colorado livestock buyer sent over 1,700 mustangs to slaughter.
Now that the BLM has walked back that policy, Rep. Grijalva has spoken out about it by questioning Secretary Zinke over what this policy could possibly accomplish. You can read the letter for yourself by clicking the green button below.
