Wild Stallion of the Rockies

Cloud, a pale palomino Mustang whose life was chronicled in the PBS documentary Cloud: Wild Stallion of the Rockies, was born in the Pryor Mountains of Montana on May 29, 1995.

Discovered mere hours after his birth by Emmy Award-winning filmmaker Ginger Kathrens, Cloud’s adventures have been recounted by Ginger in three popular documentaries and books and led her to create The Cloud Foundation to advocate for the protection and preservation of ALL wild horses and burros. Cloud disappeared in late 2016 and has not been seen since – he remains a legend of the Pryor Mountains and a symbol of America’s wild spirit.
