~In Honor of Cloud’s 30th ~ Help Get Him a Google Doodle!

This year marks a special milestone—Cloud, the legendary wild stallion of the Pryor Mountains, turns 30 on May 29! Though no longer with us, we want to celebrate his incredible life and legacy by launching a campaign to request a Google Doodle in his honor, and we need your help to make it happen. 

Cloud’s story has touched hearts around the world, inspiring efforts to protect wild horses, burros and public lands.  A Google Doodle in his honor would amplify awareness and inspire greater action to safeguard America’s wild horses and burros, ensuring they remain free on their native lands. 

How You Can Help: 

📨 Email a Request to Google – Send Google a note suggesting Cloud as a featured Doodle. Share why his story matters and the impact he has had on protecting America's wild horses and burros.  

For example, through Ginger Kathrens’ documentaries, Cloud

  • Raised Global Awareness for Wild Horses

  • Inspired Wild Horse Protection Efforts

  • Influenced Policy and Advocacy

  • Established a Lasting Legacy - Cloud is recognized as an American icon — in 2011, he was declared a Wild Horse Ambassador by Congress!! — and has a dedicated following worldwide. Even Breyer pays tribute to Cloud with special model horses.

What's a Google Doodle??

You may have noticed them when you open your web browser in Google. Google describes them as "spontaneous celebrations of events, culture, and places." 

A Google Doodle is a special, temporary alteration of Google's homepage logo to celebrate special occasions. These Doodles can be static images, interactive games, or animations and may be a "one-time" or even a series of doodles!

Google has featured Doodles for events like Earth Day, famous inventors' birthdays, and cultural milestones. They often highlight lesser known but impactful people, places, or movements. 

The "Doodle for Cloud" campaign aims to have Google create a Doodle honoring Cloud’s 30th birthday. It's a great way to celebrate his legacy and raise awareness for wild horse protection and preservation -- on a LARGE scale!
